A Letter Addressed to You

Okay- so this was written for the woman I love- who recently hasn't been 100% herself. I wrote this for her as a way to make her smile as well as a short footnote and I figured I'd put the poem here

A Letter Addressed to You.

Dearest love, your smile is the sun.

You make my heart feel its fullest.

Every moment, every second- I am undone

By your gentle soul which, to me, is the purest.

 

I know sometimes the path is dark

And you feel the need to go it alone-

But know this love, we are more than a spark.

You don’t need to brave the unknown on your own.

 

I do not always have the answer

And I cannot even pretend that I do

I do however believe that we, together,

Can face each day and each challenge anew.

 

You are beauty in all its wonderful light,

Though you have yet to see it yourself.

In my opinion, you are the most right

The most perfect… and worth more than the world’s wealth.

 

Whenever you feel the need to speak-

If ever you need to break down and cry,

Please don’t think of coming to me as weak.

I just want you to know- on me you can rely.

You really have a way of writing with rhyme that is natural and smooth. It never seems forced. That is not easy to do. Its nice to experience that warmth of the words. One could read this poem and learn to care for others.

Thankyou so much! I'm glad that you enjoy my works- I write what I feel and genuinely put the time and care.into each piece and do my best to put my heart into each line. I also try to put my own voice behind it and imagine myself saying each line- if it doesn't feel right I adjust it accordingly.. kinda like writing music in a way, you know? :)
