The Compass

The Compass

A Poem by Kirstin
"

Life

"

Parallel pathways

Intricate journeys

Uncharted territory

Determined destinies

The compass offers no insight

The maps aren’t right

Subtle signs along the way

Easily missed as they are continuously misread

Each step unguided, the next unknown

As we blindly embark on this brutal journey of life

Only later…

Longing for the answers

Looking for the meanings

While leaping forward and losing site

Our state of mind deteriorates

Attempting to determine what the future holds

In so failing to focus on the obvious

Oblivious to the fundamentally simple fact

What we put out there is that which we receive

We chose to forget that it is us who create the compass

The compass which paves the path our destinies follow

Choose now to consciously create…

Redirect the inner compass to true north

Let us be brave and stand to be better

There is no losing what has already been lost

Very poignant and apt advice for these times. I enjoyed this piece very much. It speaks of a universal journey that many need to take a close look at if we want to get off this terrible path we're on. I especially loved the line "There is no losing what has already been lost." Well done!
