A Chapter by XxBurnXdownXtheXdiscoxX

November 2nd, the first snow fall. It was 0 degrees out and I was freezing. The stupid bus didn’t come for about half an hour, so I had lots of time to get ready. I pull the covers off of me and jump out of bed. I throw on a random outfit and quickly brush my messy hair, briefly pausing to throw my homework into my book bag. Don’t you hate it when you wake up in the morning and you can’t remember anything that went on the previous day until a few minutes later? Well, I guess it can be a good thing, depending on the situation. And when it came to mine, it was a good thing. As soon as I remembered what Paul had said the previous day, my heart broke into a thousand pieces all over again.

"'Kay!" I call and throw my hair brush onto my dresser. Downstairs my aunt is waiting for me she gives me a quick hug and I am on my way. I shiver as the cold wind blows against my jacket, breaking through the layers of my jacket and peircing  my warm skin. I get to the end of my driveway as soon as the bus comes. That was a close one.

On the bus, Susan is there waiting for me. I plop down beside her and try tp break the akward silence.

"So how's ya doin?" I ask cheerfully. she looks at me darkly and continues to look out the window. So much for that... What was I going to do? was she mad at me?? Was she just confused...? Before I can come up with any other possibilities, Susan bursts  out laughing.

"Ohh my god! it is so hard to keep from   laughing!" Susan laughs.

"nice one, Sue." Susan winks at me and looks out the window once again. "Um...Weren't you going to tell me what Paul said last night on the phone? you know, the stuff I couldn't figure out?"

"Huh? What are you talking about?"

"You know...Last night...When I started to flip out? I played the convo over again and you said you knew what the jumbled mess was."

"I still have no clue what you are talking about." Of course, she had forgotten.

"Are you sure you can't remember?" I ask a very tired Susan.

"Yes, Cindy, I'm positive. Why? was it really improtant or something?"

"Very important. It has something to do with-"

"Me?" I turn around to face Paul, who has is arm around Holly. Just stay calm! Pretend you don't care and Holly will leave him alone...

"No. Why would you be important after what you did to me last night?"

"Listen, Cindy-"

"Don't. There's nothing you can do now...Just leave me alone."

I set the brush down on the dresser and pick my back pack off of the ground.

“Cindy, the bus is going to be here in 5 minutes! You better hurry!” my aunt calls from down stairs.
