I woke up

I woke up

A Poem by KirkAnthony

“Last night I woke up next to nobody
the feeling was familiar but still so strange
I wondered lying there how you felt about all this
you probably didn’t think anything, I don’t want to consider your consciousness

I’m only inside my own mind
so I can’t say anything about how anybody thinks
but I really want to convince myself that you don’t think anything
I don’t want to consider your consciousness, it’s too terrifying

Last night I woke up next to nobody else
the feeling killed me inside, I hope it killed you as well”

I love the reeling feeling this gives. It's back and forth. It's angst. It's longing. It's all of the things that splitting up makes you feel. Art is meant to disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed, and for someone who knows this feeling, it's comforting. Congrats on a fantastic write! Can't wait to read more of your work.
