a tale in green.

a tale in green.

A Poem by Kiri J
"

first post in a really, really long time.

"
the very earth was brittle under feet.
she cracked beneath weight of man
and prayed for her relief

the setting sun lit golden plains
of harvests dead and gone
and when the darkness fell it lingered on

and on

and on

and on.

a farmer took his life before the flood.
if god refused to bring the rain,
he'd rain with his own blood
the wife he loved is sitting in his chair.
watching as the as the water falls
and soaks the burning air
it's over now.

we fall asleep to storms.
born in the drought,
all we ever knew is drowning out.

it's over now.

This is beautifully written. Sad, poignant words of a hope that came too late. Thank you for shaing. I really enjoyed this.
