Tell Me Something.

Tell Me Something.

A Poem by Kiri J

Something in the way we speak

Makes me trip

Makes me fall

On the page

And my words fall out of my hands

I can feel this grey matter

Grey morning

Earl grey tea

And I’m scattered and I’m scattered

And I’m scattered and I’m scattered

You told me once it was easier to go.

Tell me something

When I came

Did you fall

On my page?

Your words fell out of my hands

I can feel this, feel guilty

Feel gorgeous

Feel you in me

And I’m scattered and I’m scattered

And I’m scattered and I’m scattered

You told me once it was easier to go

You told me once you were stupid to

Let me go

Tell me something

Does she know?

This is maybe about some sort of affair? I'm not totally sure, but it seems that way. This guy appears undecided on his options, whether to stay with you or let you go. Interesting piece and one that leaves that added mystery lurking.
Take care, Cgris.

you put this piece together. It
flows with an uncertain quality.

Sounds like a song. Love the repetition, especially and I'm scattered. I also like the line you once told me it was easier to go. Great stuff. I like the way you use the emotion of the relationship as the entry into art. It is what makes this poem special.

What a marvelously written piece of writing

I enjoyed each word and line; I could feel the emotion as I came to the end

Nicely done

When I was young and not wise yet I walked away from more than one beautiful, honest woman. True hearts. Looking back from middle age at times I feel the powerful pangs of remorse. Yes remorse. Of course with age and wisdom comes the ability to reason and to let go. And so the remorse moves to acceptance and I move on.

Your poetry evokes Kiri. If you sing this lyric connected to your core emotions it will be powerful.

All the best.

I want to hear the music behind this. I want to hear you sing it. I want to be there.
