Farce.

Farce.

A Poem by Kiri J

If there’s nothing you want from me

Please

Don’t hear me out.

I’ll only continue to lather you

Slather you

Plaster you

In deadly cement filled with a story

Liquid malice

Arsenic

…rolls off the tongue with an elegance

An eloquence…

It’s a story

About this disaster of mine

This farce

That is

You.

Soul-digger wench only wanted you for you.

Forgive me, what a selfish thing I’ve done.

Hole-digger assuming the role of a

Gravedigger of my own final resting place.

Gold-digger chasing the end of the rainbow.

There’s nothing here.

A wide expanse of concrete plains

Graffiti covers the ground, promoting your name.

I don’t belong here.

If there’s nothing you want from me.

great piece of writing kiri. the austerity of this place is powerful. although i feel clean fresh earth and water lay just beneath the surface for the man willing to listen and learn.

wonderful.

this was an all out polemic! the seond stanza was bitter - acid in wounds. this reminds me of a poem by a little known welsh poet called Patrick Jones in terms of its presentation and mood, not content.
