The Difference

A poem I wrote a while back, I tried to revise it, not sure how well it turned out

 

The difference between you and I

 

I can see it so clearly now,  the difference,

So noticeable it can be compared to the difference between night and day. Can you see it too?

 

It's in the actions, not the words

 

I watch you as you...

 

Cry silent tears.

Never sharing your pain.

 

You wear a mask of hate,

looking out at the world, with eyes so cold.

 

You know things can't change,

so you lay there unmoving.

 

You dream of vengeance,

to feel blood on your hands.

 

And you hate me,

No matter what I do.

 

This is the difference you see,

 

I look at you,

as you smile at me so fakely, hiding your pain,

I can feel the tears run down my face.

 

I wear a smile,

even though I cry. I have to be strong for you.

 

I dream of peace,

a life for you and me, where we can be happy.

I'll fight to change the future, no matter what I have to pay.

 

And I love you,

No matter what you do.

It may not make sense, it was written when I was younger so I tried to change it to make a bit more sense, but the emotion that was put in it originally is different.
