Who are We Suppose to Be

Who are We Suppose to Be

A Poem by Kira Lorraine Uman

A hopeful place

A smiling face

People questioning who they suppose to be

A hopeless heart

Pain from the start

She thought she knew who she was suppose to be

And she sings

Who are we suppose to be

Who will help us when we call?

Who are we suppose to be

Who will catch us when we fall?

All the pain we suffer through

We sometimes wonder what did we ever do.

How can so much sorrow fill our hearts?

From the start we believe that this is just a dream

And so I sing

Who are we suppose to be

Who will help us when we call?

Who are we suppose to be

Who will catch us when we fall?

Who are we suppose to be

When the rest of the world falls

Who are we suppose to be

When no one seems to care

Who are we suppose to be

Who will help us when we call?

Who are we suppose to be

Who will catch us when we fall (2x’s)

And who will we be

When the rest of the world dies

From everybody’s sorrows and everybody’s lies

And who will we be

When the world comes to an end

And we wake up and realize we have no friends

Who are we suppose to be

Who will help us when we call?

Who are we suppose to be

Who will catch us when we fall? (2x’s)
