How 2 Be Confident As An ArtistA Poem by KioneCookieyehawHow 2 Be Confident as an Artist
1. Accept
Compliments Ex. Wow, your drawing looks great! X No
no, it’s awful.
Putting down
your art will not only destroy your confidence, it kills positivity and throws
out the kind words that people give you. (It’s kind of rude) V Thank
you! Take those
words and gratefully accept them, you deserve it! Simple as that! 2.
Remember
your achievements. Ex.
I know nothing... X Ever since
you began drawing, you have gained experience and knowledge through work and
practice. Why mope and
sulk over things you haven’t learned yet. When you can use that time to work
towards your artistic goals? Believe in yourself and give it all you’ve got.
Optimism is key! You’ll get there, I promise!! V I
may not know everything, but look at all the progress I’ve made! 3.
BE
PROUD of your work. Why would you
expect others to like your work when you, the artist, talk terribly about it? It gets
tiring very quickly and makes your work seem much less desirable than what it
actually is! Don’t play your art’s worth! Ex. This one looks terrible X We all go
through our own personal art struggles, so push through it! We would much
rather see you enjoy yourself and watch your artist journey. V I’m
working hard to get where I want to be! 4.
Critiques
are GOOD! Ex.
The head looks disproportionate to the rest of the body. X I’m trash
;~; Don’t view
criticism as an attack, we are all here to help each other become the best
artists we can be! Advice and suggestions from your peers will give you that
extra help you never thought you needed. See it as an
opportunity to discover new ways to improve, maybe even more quickly! V Let’s
get to work! 5.
Love
your work, love yourself! Challenge
yourself by not saying anything negative for a week, you will quickly realize
how much a positive attitude can impact your work and your life. Your art is
worth it! Now show the world your artist journey with confidence! <3
