Dance

Dance

A Poem by Emari
"

This poem is about depression, self harm, heartbreak and loneliness

"
I loved to dance
I danced and danced
Hoping to dance with someone
But now the dance floor is empty
The music is lost
And my legs are shattered
The rhythm I felt was forever lost in time
I sit on the cold floor
Pleading for warmth
Begging for even a bit of comfort
To fill my soul
And bring my full heart
Back to life
The emptiness greets me
“Dance! Dance!” It shouts
Wishing for entertainment
But the music is gone
My legs are shattered
My heart in the hand
Of another who I handed my heart to,
Giving them warmth
Hoping they would do the same
But the cold has swallowed me whole
And they were gone with a flash
