I could never be your love

For you smother my shimmering light

The dark cloud that follows your every step

Lingers over me in spite

 

I may desire your affection

But not enough to extinguish my flame

The fire burns under my heart

And bursts at the sound of His name

 

Though I love you, I cannot be yours

You don't call upon the Love

That makes me vibrant and alive

While you die from the love you're deprived of

 

So, please forgive me, when I leave you now

I go hand in hand with the One who Loves me

Towards promise and life, divine romance
