Fire and Rain

Fire and Rain

A Chapter by Alex Vidmar
"

Inspired by the James Taylor song of the same title.

"
I've seen Fire and
I've seen Rain...
You've had sunny days
That I wished would never end...

I've seen you hold your ground like Earth.
I've heard you yell and scream like Wind.
I've watched your tears pour down like Water.
I've seen you show burning passion like Fire.

I've seen Fire and
I've seen Rain...
You've had sunny days
That I wished would never end...

I've watched as you slipped through my grasp like Water.
I've felt you blow by me like the Wind.
I've seen your hatred for me burn like Fire.
I've seen you knock me to the Earth.

I've seen Fire and
I've seen Rain...
You've had sunny days
That I wished would never end...

You're just like the Elements...
Encased in human form...
But I don't know which you'll be...
And I don't want to cause you harm...

I've seen Fire and
I've seen Rain...
You've had sunny days
That I wished would never end...

I feel the Fire burning through me...
I feel the Water in my eyes...
I feel the Wind leaving me...
Lay me in the Earth, I've died inside...

I've seen Fire and
I've seen Rain...
You've had sunny days
That I hoped would never end...

Honestly, I'm not sure what you were trying to get at here. It's not that I don't like it, but it's very vague. I know it's inspired by some James Taylor song. I don't listen to James Taylor, so I'm not familiar with his body of work. But I think he stole that whole "Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire" thing from Captain Planet.

so pretty... I can see how it was inspired by James Taylor's song. This is a great tribute piece to that work, and just a great poem altogether. Very great imagery, Great voice. Just loved it. Good job.

Oh, Alex this is really good! I'm quite speechless. It has an excellent flow.

My favorite stanza:

"I feel the Fire burning through me
I feel the Water in my eyes
I feel the Wind leaving me
Lay me in the Earth, I've died inside" Those four lines are really good :D

Outstanding!

This is really really great! I absolutely love the elemental theme to it! To me the repetition perfectly balances the changing description of the elements and I love that. This is a fantastic poem, my friend! Keep up the great work!

Ah, this was gorgeous! The flow was amazing aswell as the rhythm and I don't say that about many songs that don't rhyme. Good job :)
