Desert Hope

Desert Hope

A Chapter by Alex Vidmar

We moved to the desert
To the sands of Death Valley.
Maybe the heat will cause
The Dead to decomp faster...

Makes them easier to kill
If they fall apart...
Sooner or later they'll
Be nothing but rolling heads
and white, grinning skulls.

But we have trouble faring.
Since we feel the effects of heat and
cold.
All of the extreme feelings... and pain.

We thought this was a good idea.
But our supplies have run low.
Either spoiled, or worse...
All that are left,

Are enough rounds for all of us...
One to the heart,
One to the head,
Don't you hesitate, my daughter...

EEp.. it took some time for me to let it all settle in before I realized what the guy was talking about 0_0, now that they're everywhere, it's still hard to beat them with both fire and ice (heat and cold)..And becoming nomads with a family-that is harsh.

I can attest, since I live fairly close to Death Valley, that yes, the dead would decomopose faster. This was fairly macabre, my friend, and thoroughly delightful.
