Silent Echoes

Silent Echoes

A Poem by Alex Vidmar

Words echo through my mind,

Yet my mouth stays silent.

The pain resounding through my neurons

But, still, my tongue is quiet.

The only way to get this out,

Is to write these echoes down.

That way the only sounds are of fingers typing.

Yet the shadows of the echos remain, even now.

It sounds so broken. Like a world that stood on a wobbly axle anyway, submitted into the darkness it has tried so hard to creep out of. That in a way getting it out, is the only way to make yourself numb. Numb to what's being said. But then somewhere inside lies this inexistent feeling that mumbles every once in awhile, likes to stir around, and it's eating you, tearing you up.

This poem is so short, so quiet, but it's screaming and exploding every layer of feeling, and it only needs a few words to speak the millions creeping through your blood veins.

Well done. I love it.

It's really difficult to write a short, yet powerful poem; but I think any true writer could relate to this.

this is a good way, through poetry to vent and get out the pain we feel inside. this is a succinct and wise poem. things could be worse you could be going out and taking it out on innocent people or loved ones. excellent poem.

I can definitely relate to this as well. There are so many times when I have so many things going through my mind and I'm not certain how to say them. So I write, and they all seem to pour out into this enormous flood of a prose poem. But when I'm done, it's clear that I picked the best way of expression for me.
Wonderful job for sure :)

Sometime we need to write words down. Hard to speak them to another. I like the use of the words "Silent Echoes". Some words and thoughts are hard to forget. I like the ending to the excellent poem.

Totally relateable, awesome write, and talk to em sometime and the voices should go away, if they talk back... you might have a bigger problem XDD
just joking, actually I find writing helps more than typing, and if they still don't go away, just chill to some heavy music. ;)
