La Résistance

La Résistance

A Poem by Alex Vidmar
"

To my great-grandparents. Though I never met you, I know you so well.

"

Tant d'hommes morts.
Ils interrogé mes grands-parents;
Pistolets à leurs têtes.

Ils ont survécu à cette rencontre
Et survécu la deuxième guerre mondiale
Ma mère m'a raconté cette histoire.
Ma grand-mère, aussi.

Bien que je n'ai jamais rencontrés,
Je ressens le besoin de raconter.
Pour mes grands-parents, arrière-grand-grand-mère et arrière-grand-grand-père,
Vous reste facile, et repos bien.

I know it's in French. But they were, and I want to honor their acts of selflessness for their country in WWII.

I can not speak this, and I love French it sounds so beautiful. It would be my choice to learn it more then Latin. It sounds like a really nice honor to them. WWII... a tough time, where romance was strong to get through it all.

It's like a sad movie with a good wine, you aren't to shure what's going on, but you know it's tragic and makes you go aaaw how sweet :3

its nice to know you take interest in your grandparents where as some people wouldn't even understand the difficulty of the situation of WW2 and how rich they are with stories, this was an awesome read :)

Always good to translate into more then one language when needed. I have a translator to assist me when needed. A lot of brave people did great things in WW2. Thank you for your poetry.
