Final StandA Chapter by Alex VidmarStuck in this prison of steel and concrete. Safe in this house, I sleep, s**t, and eat. One scared woman a-knockin' at my door. An hour goes by: she ain't a-knockin' no more.
Shotgun in my grip, shells at my side; I'm safe in this house; here I reside. Ten people now, clawing at my windows. Through emotionless faces, buckshot makes holes.
Ten days pass; I'm cold and alone. Their cries rack my brain; they have no shame. Forced to eat my dog, and then my cat. I grip the grenade in my pocket.
Twenty days later, I'm still in this house. One shell left, thousands milling about. My door breaks down, they come stumbling in. My last shot does nothing; the grenade, I pull it's pin.
They swarm around me; four seconds left. They tear at me and bite; three seconds to go. Their infections infest my wounds; two seconds, now. One second left, I won't become one of them...
I give them a grin; oh what shagrin, "F**K YOU ALL!" I think. My home is blown apart by the fire within... F**k the Infestation! © 2012 Alex VidmarFeatured Review
