"R_________"

"R_________"

A Poem by Alex Vidmar

There is a word I dare not speak;

There is a word that makes my ears bleed.

That one word has massacred millions!

That word is "__________".

Many think theirs is right.

At all times of day, or Sunday night.

Holidays named for their own's sake.

This, they call "__________".

Against this word, I am not!

Against it's hurt?  I am.

Why can't we all just get along,

And forget about "__________"?

It's committed so many murders.

Brainwash young minds,

Twisting souls... destroying homes...

Really, we call this "Freedom"?

If there's one thing we could be without.

Hell, there's a list a million miles long.

Number one, it shall stand, forever devout...

Number 1: "Religion"

The aztecs had a beleif that the world goes through revolutions due to manna and this causes so many heavens and hells, the balance of these causes society's mindset, and fyi they beleive the incoming one of 2014 will be man considering himself a god and religion will either become occultish or dissapear. Great poem and halfway through, I was thinking race was the word XD

i totally agree. the controversy of religion is disgusting, and it's so hateful instead of loving as most claim to be. amazing write :)

I had no clue what that R word was. Haha. But this is a nice write, doesn't offend me. There are so many religions, beliefs, practices, in the world and many that believe in one thing and not another, and it does bring up so much debate and arguments, and such.

This is an interesting piece. As someone who approaches religion from an agnostic view, I find I can relate to the ideas you have conveyed here. I do believe everyone has the right to express their belief or disbelief in religion, but I've always struggled with how many religions go about their worship while swimming in contradictions. Religion can be peaceful, but at the same time it has led to irrevocable damage and the loss of many lives. You have captured that in your poem in a very lyrical way. Nice writing!

gah! that's so true! i've seen this happen so many times in history like with the Pilgrims, the Holocaust, or Witch Burnings. *thinks for awhile* its sad to see how far people take execution of different religion that sadly sickens me to be a mere human to live with this evil of humanity. excellent poem!!!!!
