Conform To a Mascaraed PlayA Poem by KlineXcreedHe sits in the crowd with his mask of gold. Pretending and conforming to be. Pretend to pretend. As the mask pulls tight. As he walks through a mascaraed play.
He dances his part with perfection. A number in the infinity count. Playing his part 3,2,,1. She curtsies. He bows.
His face is hot and sticky, it boils within his mask. His body trembles within him. But dare he crack that mask?
It's a play- he's one part, in a long rehearsed play. Pretending and conforming to be. Pretend to pretend. As the mask pulls tight. As he walks through a mascaraed play. © 2014 KlineXcreed |
