Let Them In?A Poem by KlineXcreedI carry a key. A golden one; In which I call my heart. I keep it safe, carry it, Shielding it from war.
At times I've thought I've lost it. And so I built my wall, But then my heart can not hear sweet summer's call.
I sit there now in my locked heart of ice. Afraid to love Afraid to die. It's a war, A battle, A darkness deep inside.
People are knocking at my icy walls. Should I let them in? Should I let them in?
I'm in my castle now, It sits upon a hill. People have ceased knocking their voices in the wind. My heart is mine: No one may touch. And yet I wonder, Whisper. Should I let them in? Should I let them in?
I carried a key- In till I died that night. I tried to protect it Instead I killed the fight. I told it, I'd save it; instead I made it cold.
I should've let them in. I should've let them in.
