I'm Still HereA Poem by KlineXcreedTo those who know or carry the battle of Alzheimer's disease. The only ones I remember Are faintly in my mind, cobwebs like a winter night Dance inside my doubtless mind.
“Oh! What's the name!” I shout Again.
I see their face, I see their eyes Frozen, fearful? Yes, I know. Tears of sadness go untold.
But I strain to remember, remember those who cared. Look inside those long teared eyes, Whispering, gently I'm still here.
If I stare at you clueless with wonder in my eyes. I'll close my eyes and remember, remember you at night.
For when I'm tucked safe in bed. No worries to be told. I dream about the long filled times, When family laughed and old friends cried.
The person who stood up, when I was all alone. The big ole' tree- memories you and I must hold.
It's not so much your memory here It's not so much the fun.
But it is one thing. That thing is love.
So when I look at you with doubt. I can feel it through my heart, I can hear it in my ear.
All I have to do is close my eyes And hear. © 2014 KlineXcreedReviews
