Here I StandA Poem by Coby G.Knowledge Inspires New Greatness
Here I stand
Another black man Trying to gain knowledge through wisdom And patience to understand Learning more about our history, Realizing slavery is current; mentally. Knowing that the stories read; Or ones in my head; Are not meant for me. Here I stand, Black man; Poetry deep inside And doctors can't see stanzas in my cat scan Anxiety can bring misery Even can drain you physically But that same energy; We can reverse to lift us spiritually Here I stand Introvert until my mind expand Soon; God formulates another plan Then bless me to express wealth before grands Money don't make you rich Cause morally it's the total opposite With a God fearing man willing to never quit.. And a vow to maintain a specific plan that's legit Money don't make you rich And attention just get you mentioned So it's a different feeling for young Kings & Queens With dreams and royal visions Here I stand, Next to my wife whose my best friend And I Thank her for saying.. "you can".. "I got you".. "Bad dreams; not true" "Bad man; not you." & "I wanna see you make it to the top too." Here I stand Equipped with a plan To help benefit my family, Believers in Christ, my real friends For souls rich long before earthly brands For Smiles after friendships ends & For everybody who ever tried again Again and again © 2016 Coby G. |
