Treyvon Luther King

Treyvon Luther King

A Poem by Coby G.
"

Knowledge Inspires New Greatness

"
Today on the news
My mind realized they kept singing
The red, white and blues..
One new song; for every king that we lose.

They gave us drugs, labeled us thugs
Then put there plan to use.
Trying to keep us mentally imprisoned
And tease us about running loose.

Freedom is belief in the kingdom.
A heart of Wisdom;
Never judges by skin tone,
Political views or religion.

One man can change the world
And he's somewhere on earth.
He's had nightmares
And a vision of better days since birth.

He went to school everyday and said the pledge..
But he never felt the words that he read.
So instead of being mislead
He had his own anthem in his head.

It said,
"the words of your national anthem is being misread"
Treyvon cooked his own food for thought
Instead of taking everything he was fed.

He believed in peace and love.
But it seemed like temptation crept his way.
And Today; "What's good my n***a"
Is what his black and white friends say.

To one king; knowing your means
Can mean everything.
Cause a quick sell on a cell
Is the only time it seems we feel freedom ring.

Young king;
Treyvon, with a dream
Not the same vision as Martin Luther..
But to him; it meant everything.

He let knowledge inspire greatness;
He was a analyzer
Who Appeared normal;
But created rhymes so people see CNN in the cyphers.

Reading a Civil rights book made him wiser
He even found the heart to speak knowledge to his supplier.
Their minds were lifted
And now there spirit is even higher.

Even though this knowledge and courage
Wasn't taught in the class room's of his school.
He used faith and ambition
As his life's gifts and tools.

Everywhere that he looks;
It seemed like his people needed money or bread on their books.
Taking chances got them took.
And everybody vanishing really had his mind shook.

But some how he made a way
To stay positive through the day.
We lost Young Martin in February
So It's no more black history month today.

Instead we want a black presence lifetime;
Where other colors are not afraid of brothers
And police are in their right mind.
Truth is; right now is the right time

God is the light of truth
And the junior of Martin Luther let freedom shine.
He paved the way
But the path still remains hard to find.

Freedom is obtained;
Through the hard times you kept hope and stayed sane.
Now you're strong enough to keep peace
In your spirit, heart and brain.

Treyvon stayed strong.
Even stayed away from Malcom's X
Because sex and checks
Is the way temptation paved for us to think there is respect.

Health is wealth.
A open mind and heart is the best way to help someone else.
Real eyes don't criticize
But they see visions of what's right and what should be left;

Old ways, bad days
Lonely days and sad days.
Carrying ourself right; feeling our royalty
With or without the new J's.

This is a message from someone you never seen;
Named Treyvon Luther King.
Even when everything ain't what it seem.
Through these poetic messages I scream; "I still have a dream."
