Chapter 3: Well Played

Chapter 3: Well Played

A Chapter by Rron

Nedack and I played checkers for a long time, maybe like four hours? “It’s your turn.” Nedack said.
“You gonna make a move or not?” Nedack said impatiently. “Oh yeah sorry, just let me think my move out.” I said.
I jumped over three of his pieces and he went speechless. “Thanks you gave me my opportunity.” Nedack said confidentially.
He jumped over my pieces until he went to the back of my side of the board. “Damn you got a king, well I bet I can take it down.” I said.
I jumped over one of his pieces and it was his turn. “Get ready for this.” He said. He jumped over two of my pieces.
“You need to move some of your pieces more, don’t just have some that you move once or twice you got to move them all.” Nedack said for the hundredth time. “I know; you say every that time we play.” I said. “Yeah but you never do it every time we play.” Said Nedack.
“Hey can I join?” Owl said out of nowhere. “This game only can have two players.” I said being a smartass.
“Yeah but I played it one time and there was five other people.” Owl said. “That’s Chinese Checkers and we don’t have that one, regular checkers is the only thing we have.” I said.
“Well damn that’s the only game I know.” Owl said. “Wait you only know Chinese Checkers?!” Nedack asked surprised. “Yeah why?” Owl asked confused. “There are millions of board games, where do I even begin.” Nedack said. “Wow you got to be kidding me!” Owl said getting all exited.
“So you only have the one game?” Owl asked. “Yeah I already said we only had checkers.” I said. “Oh sorry, can’t we just make a game though.” Owl said. “We have nothing to build it out of so no we can’t.” I said. “But we have rocks and the dirt, can’t we use that?” Owl asked. “Hey that’s an awesome idea, let’s do it!” said Nedack.
Owl grabbed a stick and started to dent the ground making circles for the pieces to go. Nedack grabbed tons of pebbles and it was more than enough for the three of us. “See we got enough materials.” Owl said.
“It looks like trash.” I said. “Well at least  we did something you just been sitting in the same spot.” Nedack said getting a little pissed.
“So how do we play exactly?” I asked. Then Owl enthusiastically explained the details.
“That’s it? That’s pretty simple.” I said thinking there was more. “The same with the version of checkers you play, well I assume.” Owl said. “Huh I guess I never realized how simple checkers was.” I said.
“You guys ready to play?” Owl asked. Nedack and I both agreed and we started playing. I wasn’t too good at it since all the spaces kinda  confused me.
“It’s not that hard Rron just move already.” Said Nedack. “I have to plan out all of my moves.” I said trying to convince him. “Plan them later, just plan out this turn’s move.” Nedack said.
"Um, I guess I'll just move that one up." I said not knowing a clue of what I was doing. A few minutes later some action started to finally happen.
"Ha! I jumped your piece!" Owl said excitedly. He moved my piece back to my start. "Wait, what are you sure we're doing this right?" I said confused. "I believe so." Owl said. After 30 minutes Nedack had finally won. "Nice job." Owl said.
