MorningA Poem by KindaCursedquiet morning mist hanging over soybean fields disguising wildlife at play
melody of dawn songbirds call the slumbering wood to a new beginning
steaming coffee in a chipped mug ancient bench on a weathered wooden deck solitude and contemplation empty roads cut through countryside and city blocks alike the world sleeps, save me sandpaper tongue on my cheek a loud purr rumbling a tiny body the kitten’s wake up call ham and eggs splatter oil overcooked toast drinks butter thirstily breakfast table banter cool linen cocoon around a body in the final hours, moments of stillness shake off this sleep and fly the world stumbles alive each dawn like the swan on the shore, ungainly, awkward upon the water of new day, she glides
