Laugh, it seems funny to you!

O cruel world!

Laugh, it’s all you do!

I am a pain-filled girl!

 

“Shakespeare hates your emo poems’’

reads the text on your witty shirt.

My emo life is how I cope at home

because all I can do is hurt and hurt!

 

You ask me to write some happy lines

because the world thinks I need cheered up

when all I really need is an outlet to whine

because my universe is a half empty cup.

 

Make your jokes- they don’t help

About you wish your lawn were like me

The grass would water and cut itself

And it would always be a pristine green.

 

I once tried to write some happy verse 

but the small smile wasn’t worth the cost

now I write only in rhyme- it’s my curse

and I fear that soon my sanity will be lost.

 

It’s a sad sad tale of woe

behind why my poems are emo.
