Teenage Trauma

Teenage Trauma

A Poem by Kimiko Watson

Teenagers, so happy and free,
moving about,
not a care,
otn a fear,
Unaware of the learking eyes,
Unware of the men that pry,
unaware of the sexual abuse,
awaiting like a fuse,
Poverty, a monster some know so well
nothing to eat,
nothing to drink,
No where to lay a young lad's head.
Boy or girl, girl or boy,
innocence taken for a loaf of bread.

She wishes she had known not to trust his smile.
He wish he had known, how to run and scream.
Now they hide in fear, lanquishung in pain,
Having no one to turn to,
No one seems to care,
Not a mom nor a dad to bring justice to their pain.
