The Star Gazer

The Star Gazer

A Poem by Kimiko Watson
"

This poem is a metaphoric piece that speaks to the intense feeling of a man and his wife.

"
She uncovered her galaxy and showed him the two brightest stars with the longest tails,
He was simple amazed,
He felt as if he had seen the universe,
He asked if he could touch them Because he was more than just an admirer,
He was a lover of her magnificent being,

His persistent graze suggested that he craved more,
So, he held them firmly,
They fit perfectly in his palms as if they were created just to be touched by him.
He then gazed at the perfect gravity that held these stars in place.
This time he didn’t ask if he could touch,

The fire in her eyes granted him the only permission he needed.
He touched her gently and found himself between her Milky Way.
He dipped a finger in first, just to test its gravity before losing himself inside of her world,
In this moment they created a cosmic energy that united both worlds.
