My English I Short Story (The Fall of Germisica)

This is a story I had to write for a grade. I will post what my grade was later.

The RBA is the greatest enemy that is known to the royal family. RBA stands for Royal Blood Assassins. Their motive is very clear " to kill every single person with royal blood so they can prove they are more powerful with weapons, than a Royal with an element. They also want to control the whole world. They have started wars in the past that led to their downfall. But 15 years after the last war ends, there will be a new generation of RBA members to try and kill the Royals. However, the last generation was different; the RBA did not come to kill the Royals. Everyone thought they were done trying to kill them, so they are no more. Or so they thought…

Like she always does, Princess Karin was walking through her beautiful rose garden as the sun ascended. The roses in the garden did not come in just red. There was white, the color of the wind; green the color of the earth; red, the color of fire; blue, the color of water; and purple, the color of the royal family. In the center of the garden is a courtyard where a circular fountain made of pure gold can be seen. Along the side of the fountain, there are plates with the four stones with the four elements " wind, earth, fire, and water. The wind plate faces North; the earth plate faces East; the fire plate faces South; and the water plates faces West. From the castle, you can only see the roses that hang over the garden path.

The princess forbade anyone to go into the garden without her permission, unless it was an emergency. The garden is where Princess Karin secretly practiced her abilities to control the four elements because no one knew about them.

The princess heard a sound that originated from somewhere toward the castle. The gate of the garden was opening. She hurried to the fountain, just in time to see a servant running up the main path of the garden.

“Princess Karin!” The servant called with a hint of fear in her voice.

“I am here.” The princess said calmly. “What is it?”

The woman stopped and bent down, trying to catch her breath. Once she did, the words that came out of her mouth were ones that could turn the strongest man to stone. “The RBA is back.”

Princess Karin gasped. She grabbed the servant’s wrist and ran to her parents’ throne room.

Once there, King Demetri ordered the guards to protect this room with their lives and told the servants to leave.

“Mom? Dad? What’s going on here?” Princess Karin asks.

The king and the queen looked at each other and then Queen Anabella handed a letter to the princess. It read:

Dear Royals,

You probably thought we were dead, didn’t you? Well… you were wrong! We are still alive and ready to kill you. Our numbers were so low that we had to get new recruits.

We now quadrupled our numbers since last year. This letter is a warning to give up your lives, so your people don’t have to. You have until sunrise tomorrow to surrender yourselves. The princess will be spared but she will marry our leader. Germisica will be ours!

-RBA

The princess gasped. “I will not marry anyone that wants to kill my family! We have to protect our city, Germisica!” She yelled so loud that the guards outside the castle heard her.

“I agree…” The queen started. “… but what will we do for tomorrow?”

“We should do what the past Royals have done in the past,” yelled Princess Karin. “We should tell everyone to get ready to fight and take the unable one to the underground safe houses.”

“We should.” Queen Anabella said, and then turned to her husband. “What do you think, Demetri?”

The king sighed. “Yes. I will go and inform our people about this new situation. They will immediately get ready to fight and the children and the elders will be taken to here. In the morning, Karin, you will take them to the underground safe houses. Also, please take the cooks and servants.” King Demetri finished.

“Okay. I will wait for the children on the castle stairs.” The princess said.

“Please do.” King Demetri turned to the queen. “Anabella, please stay here and protect the throne if I am defeated.” He turned to leave without waiting to hear the queen’s reply.

“Good luck.” All of them said in unison, just before King Demetri left the room.

The queen sat on her throne. “Be careful, my daughter. You are the next heir, so if your father and I fail, Germisica will be your to command if you defeat the RBA. Do not fight unless it is necessary. Okay?”

“Okay, Mother.” Princess Karin turned to leave and walked out of the throne room.

Once all the children and elders were in the castle’s ballroom, Princess Karin got the attention of everyone, and said, “Children and elders! Please do not be scared. Tomorrow morning, when the sun rises, we will leave to go to the safe houses. For tonight, you will sleep here, so please do not worry. We have a long walk when we leave, so get a good nights’ sleep. Last thing " I want all the older children to take care of the younger ones and the elders. Thank you and good night, children.” She turned to leave, but two pairs of hands grabbed both of her wrists. She turned back to see a pair of twin girls.

“Where are you going?” They asked in unison.

“I’m going to talk to the servants and then go to the bed. Why? What is wrong?” The princess replied.

“Please, don’t go.” The girl on the left said.

“We want you to "” The girl on the right said.

“" protect us!” They both yelled as they started to cry.

“Please don’t cry. The guards will protect you when you sleep in this room and I will protect you when we take our long walk to the safe houses. Okay?”

The twins smiled and said, “Okay.” They skipped back over to the other children.

The princess walked out of the room.

“Guards, I want you to protect this room, like you did with the throne room. Servants, I want you to get the children and the elders anything they want. That means, food, something to drink, and to go to the bathroom. All of you will take turns doing your job. When you are not doing it, you are sleeping. Okay?”

Afterwards, Princess Karin went to her room and got dressed for bed. She walked to her balcony that overlooked Germisica. She sighed. The city was always beautiful whenever she looked at it. Princess Karin closed her eyes and pictured what he city would look like when she would rule; happy people; no wars or violence; and beautiful singing. The princess walked back into her room and shut the balcony doors. She laid down on the bed and instantly fell asleep.

Everyone in the castle was woken by a loud bang while the castle was shaking. The princess got dressed quickly. A guard was standing outside of her room, kind of dozing off to sleep because of the quiet night.

“Guard!” The princess yelled.  The man was startled and went back to attention. “I want you to go see what is going on and what is making the loud noises. I will leave immediately for the safe houses. So, once you have the information, go toward the safe houses. Okay?”

The man nodded and left.

She then ran to the ballroom, turning into a walk when she saw guards. Since everyone was up, the princess decided that their walk will start early. They walked out of the castle and hadn’t gotten far when the guard outside of the princess’s room ran out of the castle, toward the group of children.

“Princess Karin!” The guard stopped. “The loud noises were from the RBA. They are throwing fireballs at Germisica and the castle. The RBA has entered the city and started to attack the people. The king has gone to fight the leader. That is all I have to report, my Princess.” The guard finished.

“Good. You must join the fight. Dismissed.” Princess Karin replied.

The guard left and Amy fell behind, alongside her.

“Any, I wish I could fight with my parents. Instead, I’m, stuck here.” Princess Karin said, under her breath.

“Princess, you know you are the heir to the throne. That means you have to stay hidden and alive.” Amy put a hand on her shoulder.

“But I have the power to get rid of them. I could end their rebellion once and "”

Princess Karin was cut off by screams. She ran up to the front of the group with Amy right behind her. Standing a few feet away was a man, with two servants dead at his feet. He wore a tan cloak with black fire coming up from the bottom of the cloak.

The princess leaned toward Amy. “I want you to listen carefully. Get everyone out of here as quickly as possible and to the safe houses. Do not come out, even if I don’t come back. Stay there until someone comes to get you or, if no one comes, leave and go as far from here as possible. And before you refuse, I am commanding you as a Royal, not a friend.”

Amy nodded and got the children and elders away from the RBA member and the princess, quickly.

Thunder sounded and a sprinkle started to pour down.

“Hello, Princess Karin.” The man pulled down his hood. He has matted golden hair grey-green eyes and a high forehead. “I am Lucian, the second-in-command of the RBA. I presume you got the letter since you are trying to escape. But, I’m sorry. No Royal is going to leave the city. You will either give up your city and/or marry our leader. What do you say?” Lucian asked.

Thunder resonated and rain was plummeted faster.

“Hello, Lucian. Your name will be a forgettable one, since you will be dead in a few minutes.” The princess smiled. “But, of course, I got your letter. I would never run from my city or my family and I was not planning to leave with the others. In fact, you came at the right time.” The princess frowned. “Furthermore, I refuse to marry your leader. You cannot make me do something that I don’t want to.”

“Well, I will just have to kill you.” Lucian drew out his sword and went to attack the princess.

Thunder roared again and the rain came down as hard as hail falling from the sky.

Princess Karin closed her eyes as she reached into the air and said,

“I am a princess.

           You are a peasant.

           My powers are stronger

Than your weapons.

I will descend,

From the heavens,

To end your task,

To kill all the Royals.”

The princess finished her chant and released the seal that kept her power under control. She opened her eyes that had turned to a mix of white, green, red, and blue. Princess Karin whipped her hand forward and Lucian was thrown back against a tree. He got up and smiled. He pulled out another sword from under his cloak, but this one was different. There was a power that radiated off of it that seemed to scream fire element. He started running toward the princess.

“But that’s impossible. How can the RBA wield a fire element sword?” Princess Karin yelled.

Lucian smiled, but kept running. “I didn’t tell them about this sword. I control the element, fire. It’s amazing, isn’t it? I love to surprise people by pulling it out. No one has survived, so I don’t have a living witness.”

“Until now.” The princess created a spear of ice from the falling rain right in front of Lucian’s chest. He hit the spear and dropped to the ground.

Princess Karin put the seal back on and started running toward the castle, knowing that if the second-in-command is here, then the leader must be at the castle.

She ran into the castle and immediately stops. There weren’t any in the hallway and at a time like his, there should be guards everywhere. She continued her run to her parents’ throne room.

When she opened the doors to the throne room and immediately sees her unconscious parents tied to two different columns on each side of the room. On the throne was the leader of the RBA.

“So, you did come back. I knew you would sooner or later. Why are you here anyways?” The man smiled evilly.

“I came here because I knew you would be here waiting for me or you were on your way. Also, aren’t you wondering where your second-in-command is?” The princess countered.

The leader frowned. “What happened to him? He was my best soldier, but I was done with him anyways.”

“Done with him?!” Princess Karin yelled. “You have a lot of power, yet you just throw away your soldiers like trash being taken out. In your letter it said that the leader would marry me. I refuse to.”

“Very well.” The man stood. “I am Vladimir. Remember the name of your killer.” He stepped off the steps that lead up to the thrones.

The princess sighed. She released her seal again. She ran and countered his sword with her own fire sword. Her sword cut through Vladimir’s. He flipped back so that he was almost to the thrones. He frowned again and pulled out several daggers and threw them at Princess Karin. She used the water in the air to stop the daggers. She turned them so that the tips were facing Vladimir and threw them back toward him, three times as fast. He tried to dodge but the princess created an ice wall that wrapped all the way around him except for in front where the daggers would come through. Blood splattered on the ice wall when the little knives hit Vladimir’s upper arms, lower legs, and chest.

Vladimir groaned in pain and said, “Even though your king killed every other member of the RBA, we will still survive. Defeat doesn't finish a man; quit does. A man is not finished when he's defeated. He's finished when he quits, or when he dies.”

“Then you shall die.” Princess Karin formed a fire circle around his feet and his body started burning. He screamed in agony, but the flames kept crawling up his body.

A few minutes later, he stopped screaming and he was dead, his ashes on the ground. She got rid of the fire. She untied her parents and laid them on the ground. She started to heal her father as her mother began to regain consciousness.

“Mother, before you ask about my abilities, I want to wait until my father wakes up, so I can tell both of you at the same time. Okay?” The princess said without looking up at her mother.

The queen nodded.

Several minutes past and the king finally regained consciousness and sat against a pillar next to his wife.

The princess sat on the floor across from them and started to explain. “I think I was born with the abilities to control the four elements. Ever since I started walking through the rose garden, I have learned to control my powers. Of course, you already know that each element has a direction and a color. Because of the privacy I asked everyone to give me, I was able to master all the elements.” The princess smiled. “The reason I kept my powers from you was so I could appear weak and fragile. So, if I was kidnapped, I would be able to get out and kill everyone that did it and return to the castle before anyone noticed. Also, I love how people underestimate me. It’s so funny to see their reaction.” Princess Karin paused. “If people want to mess with us again, they have another thing coming.”

The king and the queen laughed with the princess.

The king stopped laughing and coughed. “Tonight we will have a feast in your honor, my daughter.  Thank you for saving us and Germisica.” He hugged Princess Karin.

The queen came over and did the same. “Yes. Thank you.”

The princess hugged both of her parents and said, “Your welcome.”
