Devils CallA Poem by annalysiarA soldier is executed while protecting his secret love. His last thoughts before his life ends.
Tick-tock
tick-tock Tick-tock... the seconds tick away Bearing the weight of his fate. he stands head tall Ready for the end Innocent he may be Guilty the verdict did see come one, come all... bear witness to the Devils Call Here he stands awaiting his fall hoping for her call... knowing it must not be. For the secret is she, His only love one and all. Tick-tock Chimes off the seconds of his life. oh how he wished- she could have been his wife The child would live. Life is his gift... Come one, come all bear witness to The Devils Call Innocent he may be Guilty the verdict did see Truth swept aside... for the sake of her life head tall, he stands bearing the weight of his fate Looking into her tear filled eyes Knowing she will keep her life knowing she is safe, there are many lifetimes to wait. The seconds tick away rain filled clouds take their sway as an innocent secret is slain this day. © 2016 annalysiarFeatured Review
