Open Your Eyes

You look at me. But you don't see me

Stop and stare.

I see you looking but your not there.

If you'd open your eyes you would see.

Something else within me.

 

Senses going onto overdrive.

Time of judgement has arrived.

What is to be done within this time.

All you had to do was read between the lines.

 

Listen, look, just for a little bit

Within the spaces all the things that fit.

The cascading waves in the dawn

Teardrop dews on the back lawn.

 

All you had to do was to open your eyes.

Look behind all the tears and lies.

Listen carefully and you might hear.

Soulful melodies within all the fear.

 

You wonder and wonder.

But there was no use to ponder.

All you had to do was open your eyes.

In terms of technicallity, you get an A+ from me...

I like the flow and the imagery...its a good piece, sharpen your mind for more, cuz u can reach ever more.

This was a wonderful poem and I think you did a fairly good job at rhyming. Guess you were a poet and didn't know it! I loved the imagery in this. This poem has mixed meanings, and sometimes that's what you're looking for :) Good job!
