The Range

The Range

A Poem by Kimberly Smith

The range
Arrived here not a word said
Captivate the love in a past wetness from the rain
The same past appears through my veins
Switch lanes as they change
The range
Laced beads of sweat
What I did to get the sweat
I regret
Fences, fenced the fence
There’s the defense, then
The range

The mental picture I gather here is one I love...bleak, empty, open. Like a stretch of open land, or a stretch of open conciousness...well done!

Very strange, in a good way of course, I found it confusing, you had to think about what you were writing about. I think that is a brilliant writing style, if you can provoke thought. I just think that it ended before it should've, like there is more to it, but you aren't letting us in on it.

Over all, I love it!
Great job!

This is so unusual. To me there are different meanings that I can't quite put my finger on just one. I like it because it's different and unique. Nicely penned!
