High

High

A Poem by Killarney Roscoe

Life's never been so dangerous, so silent secure and welcoming. I've
never quite felt its passions until this moment, or so it seems
I've never been this high before on any other drug
I've never ever cared this much before, I've never been so not confused
oh, lips like candy, bring them closer to mine
skin so soft, breathing so hot
damn boy you got me coming back all the time
its an affection that I can't deny
its an addiction. I need it all the time
got me going out of my mind
A smile so tempting, it draws me in
got me hyperventilating
i can feel my head starting to spin
I've never been this high before on any other drug
I've never cared this much before, I've never been so not confused
oh, lips like candy, bring them closer to mine
skin so soft, breathing so hot
damn boy you got me coming back all the time

life's never been so precarious
slipping on the edge of something so new

Everything's been so delirious
no I don't even have a clue

I feel so restricted. I can't deny
I feel so constricted, something I can't defy
feels like everything is going awry
baby I'm too young to die

i've never been this high before on any other drug
I've never cared this much before, I've never been so not confused

oh, lips like candy, bring them closer to mine
skin so soft, breathing so hot
damn boy you got me coming back all the time

This is a wonderful poem--and it could also be a great song. It's very lyrical. Soft skin, hot breath, an addiction like no other . . . profound in its truth
