Rainbow eyes

Rainbow eyes

A Poem by M.Kilani

Into her eyes I look

I know sun shines on my back

Suffocated was the breath I took

And courage now I lack

She clears the clouds of destiny

Sparkles horizon under her eyelash

And I see a world of harmony

Revives the heart of ash

And no sign of the darkest night

Golden smile of the sun

And I sigh to the glorious sight

Embraces warmth, the one

He forgets not black eyes

He forgets not forests of Aden

The ones he could never get

He leaves with regret

He found another shore

Wild horses and drunk door

Whispers of the wind

The lover and the friend

In colorlessness now he stands

Watching rainbow over golden sands

Believing they are more lies

As he stairs into rainbow eyes

MK, you could write decent poems with your eyes closed! I like this lose fitting beauty, it's playful and great for spoken word.

A poem with honest words and thoughts. I had to read a few time to grasp and understand the poem. The ending made the poem complete. Thank you for the excellent poem.
