Worthless

Worthless

A Poem by M.Kilani

And after those years I wonder

Is she worth it?

Those sleepless nights, I await

This drift away from fate

All those sighs

And silent cries

All those others I left behind

All to stay by her side

For the first time I wonder

Is she even the one

Should I stay, should I run

Show me a sign in thunder

Show me a sign in rain

Show me a sign in pain

Show me a sign in dead roses

Those I have killed in vain

Was she worth leaving my friend

The tears them descend

And all them women I refuse

Was she the right one to choose

Is she worth my regret

The burning cigarette

And the hours I’m alone

To guard her till the dawn

If she is worth, then I don’t know

Not much obvious I can show

If she is worthless, then let her be

If worthless I call her, then worthless is me

Thoroughy enjoyable poem :)

Some of your rhymes were quite clever. This is an outlook on love that hasn't been covered too much and it seems more realistic than the idea that you will immediately know when someone is "the one." (Not that I would really know.)

I liked the last line--it's a cool rhyme, even if it's not quite right grammatically. It still works. I really enjoyed the third and fourth stanzas, too.

It's sad that you feel this way. I don't know much about love or how it works, but I understand the emotions.

I believe love in a work in progress. When two people decide to become one. Need kindness and care. Love get better with time. No woman is worthless. Our mother's and mother's of our children need tender loving care always. If a woman allow you into her heart. You are lucky and need to be thankful and hold on. A strong ending to a excellent poem.
