She is the dark

She is the dark

A Poem by M.Kilani

She is the dark where I hide from the sun

She is where I belong

Where unseen is the undone

Where silence is a song

She is the dark where I stay awake

Where my nightmares grow old

Where I dream of what I forsake

Where the sun is never cold

She is the dark where I never fall asleep

Where I’m always left alone

Where no one hears me weep

Where I await for another dawn

She is the dark

Where burns my cigarette

And empty is my cup of coffee

Where dismay I forget

Where I am truly free

She is the dark

Where I gaze into her black hair

Where darkness makes a shield

Where her breath is the air

and her eyes are the fields

She is the dark

Where no sense makes sense

A star upon an ark

And still I can’t confess

That she is the dark

I like the line "where no sense makes sense" nice play on words. Might want to consider rewording "Where burns my cigarette/ And empty is my cup of coffee" those lines seemed a little backwards to me. I like the rhythm and the personification. The way the ending came suddenly out of the rhythm was nice too because it really emphasized it, as though you suddenly snapped back to reality after a dream. I like the heart of this poem :)

This is truly amazing! The flow is terrific and if this is the unfinished version I can't wait to read the Finished one. Great job :)

Where silence is a song... this line I relate to. Sometimes, just sitting in silence, if you listen closely enough, you can here the song of creation. Definitely has my interests, wonder how it's going to end?

Truly gorgeous. The will of the voice to persist in finding what he/she can't.
A lovely metaphor. "A star upon an ark." Well balanced as well.
