Drunk Door

Drunk Door

A Poem by M.Kilani

Wait outside said to me

One minute and I'll be ready to go

Rain it was?!

 no it was snow

I had a plan in my head; to watch a show

Steps away was a liqueurs store

So I stood for an hour outside your door

Thinking of how beautiful she would look

Got cold and bored so I threw the window with a little rock

Wait a bit more to my self I said

Images of her ran into my head

So I laid down on the floor

Waiting for her; waiting more

Midnight has come

Days walked me through

Colder…I got older

Rocks more I threw

Inside me a voice has spoken

Why don't you go knock on her door

Take a peak at whom you’re waiting for

With frozen fingers and forsaken skin

Stray are the eyes and cold within

Oh bright lights of liquor store

Fade away I can't see the door

Dawn has come

Closer…I got colder

Door bell I rang

No bill has sang

Doors I knocked

But the doors were locked

To the outdoor a man has come

Over..I got closer

as i entered the store

Drinks I ordered

Soul is sore

Saw my reflection in my wine

Knew this woman can't be mine

Somehow...

now I remember that night at the "store"

Closer it was to me...

than any woman's door
