The bards of the departureA Poem by M.KilaniThis poem is written for my fellow writers who were a part of our poetry book .Here we are a vision, an open book, and a dream Where each put one’s heartache along with silent scream Here we have gathered our essential pain Still we laugh, still we smile, perhaps we are insane Combined by The Departure, that somehow sat us free It wasn’t just a name it was much more, I wish I could find the irony As this departure is made of our streams of consciousness A departure of my old world, of friend that no longer I miss But how come we smile when we are around Wasn’t melancholy our main bound Perhaps we’ve became so clear, one sees other heart Perhaps we shape human pain, and carve it into art Or was it the same glass of wine that we all have drank Or are we a crew of one ship, together we have sank © 2010 M.Kilani |
