A time for change (Incedo)

A time for change (Incedo)

A Poem by M.Kilani

Betrayed by the world

Senseless are the words

All around is fake

And you seek a chance to break

When time passes by, day by day

And the life inside just walks away

When silence evokes and no one talk

When your best friend is your toxin smoke

Walk along don’t follow me

Step upon those rocks and stones

No sleepless nights no lonely dawns

Side by side to the land of the free

If for one joy one has to pay

When all around imitate like mimes

And norm becomes all these crimes

And the joy is replaced by dismay

When the world seems to be still

When a smile no longer can cure the ill

When all pushes you to give up on life

When all has a dying will

Run into the wild run along under the sun

Humble yet full of pride don’t look behind wait for none

Run! Do not escape, like a kid running for the sake of run

Don’t hide your face we are all the same, we all stand as one

Stand not still to a dying world

Wish no more and ask your God

Do! Achieve before your dead

You can just watch, or change instead

Wake up (Incedo) when all are asleep

Go (Incedo) when all are still

Change (Incedo) when all are the same

Move forward (Incedo) in order to dwell

And when the words rebel Incedo as well

(Review for Change the World Competition) I admit I had to ‘google’ incedo. You provided a work that was exactly what the competition asked for. No surprise then that your highest marks came in the categories of ‘Subject’ and ‘Honesty’. I got a real sense of frustration from your crafted words, Loved the imagery you gave me with the line “And norm becomes all these crimes “. Great entry, thank you.
