Mistress of dusk, mistress of dawnA Poem by M.Kilani
Here I find myself now
Alone, cold and bored As I describe some of what I saw I chant her, poetry to the lonesome road She came one night When I lost my white blind light Not boredom, sympathy nor guilt Only a world that we have built She entered my garden of souls The one and only to dwell my walls To rest on an empty throne Mistress of dusk, mistress of dawn We were old enough to realize That we were too young to tell any lies As we laughed at our broken dreams It was harder than it always seems We danced in the shadows of words With beams of light we build three worlds Never thought we would depart Has an end what has a start We shared smokes, coffee and wine I can't label it but it was divine Like a breeze of aromatic cool air Soothing my breath and waving her hair No more words I can utter For I fear the words and the shadows they make As my lonesome dawn breaks Those shadows without her will break and shutter
