Repent

Repent

A Poem by M.Kilani

To what end
To what new beginning
First time to regret
And I still can't forget

What if I'm wrong
What more can I change
What if there's more
Under the tongue

No words and no signs
Silence, smoke and sighs
Troubled weary mind
Regret I can't hide

But again, to what end
Tears to descend
A frown on the mouth
For the lack of sweetest warmth

More sadness
Less madness
Like a one-legged man trying to run
A prisoner awaits to see the sun

And again, no word, no sign
A memory of mystique heated wine
And the last of her scent
And a wish to repent

The moon can't tell how much I yearn
The flame still burns, awaits your return
Even the ice in my drink
It spells your name

even the ice in my drink spells your name. when we are fully immersed in the thoughts of another. This poem speaks well to that.
