Uninvited IIA Poem by M.Kilani
Again in lonesome I stand Not entirely alone, but steps away Uninvited again I am, I entered, stayed As I watch it turn to diamond, the heart of coal
Two jewels in the sky I own none Not even beams of sun Yet I wish not to die
Falls upon me rain Falls upon my pain To wash all my dismay October’s rain of May
As I fall awake from sleep I curse none of the souls I keep I envy not gods, for I was once there I stepped down from heaven more than a stair
For gods I pour my wine on floor Half open I leave that door Expecting for no one Yet hiding from eternal sun
And that I do not regret Nor I’ll forget For the best is yet to come And I shall never quit
All moonless night I hid All tears I’ve never shed Brings me off my knees Makes me raise my head
All their smiles within All their joyful sin Makes my wounds heal For they heal on another skin
As I enter the cave where no one has been Uninvited to that place I am again As I defy all weakness of men Again I stand alone
Special and alone Back to the same dawn Where I’ve many times have been Flashbacks of all I’ve seen
Still I walk in, still I enter the cave Again I dig a grave as two call my name A creature of the sun and a wanderer of the night My mind now, I have to fight
All to roam the road All to keep a word To give freedom And to be free
Then again, it’s me The one who’s homeless more than free The one too sharp to notice Yet too blind to see
