Sin

Sin

A Poem by M.Kilani

"We meet again"

Said paper and pen

"Months since last time

Time to confess your crime?

It wasn’t enough

Your alcohol and sleepless nights

You still curse them

You still curse white blind light

Time to sin

Time to grow darkness within

For all heroes are gone

All to the very last one

And you are left alone

How much more can you hold that mourn

Do you still believe

A human can have a pure heart

All of them deceive

Deception… what an art

Wake up and smell the morning s**t

Drink more coffee to realize

Just before your long night shift

You have been hypnotized

All stories of goodness in man

All are fairy tails

They taught you that in school

Oh, what a fool

And you still hope and pray

As you roam wilderness astray

As you step on ground with a heavy heart

You spread joy with all your dismay

Still you’re heading there?

How naive of a smart one

You have seen horizon in burning sun

And still you do care?

You call them again

You summon the ones who’ve sinned

Are you addicted to pain

Is it worth what you defend?

Times of honor came to an end

All now fake and pretend

And still you believe

Oh what a naive

How much more can you take?

How much more can you stand tall?

Isn’t it time to fall

To commit one mistake

Your endless search for perfection

Which no longer does exist

No maiden awaits you among the mist

Searching is just an addiction

Let go of your creed

Let go of that pen

Let go of the good deeds

For good things happen to those who sin"

I don't know. Many kind of sins. Some sin can mark you for life. Sin is where you are standing. I believe life is learning and many mistake. A mistake is not a sin. A sin is a deed done knowing there will be damage or harm to another. A very good poem. Open the door to a very good debate. A outstanding poem.

Meaningful poem, full of reality which gives it a dress of depression. Powerful beginning and it gets better as it finishes. It was so good I found it hard to choose my favorite part. Great work. Keep it up waiting for more

long time but it was worth the wait... I love the interactive nature of this poem, the disguised monologue... the rhyme is as always, impeccable but became confusing at some parts, but it took nothing of the greatness of this poem, I love it.

Cheers
