CircusA Poem by Michael DeshieldsHave you ever been lost?
Gather around one and all
We've come together to witness Eachother fall No remorse in our words No independent thought We succumb to society And its deafening force Bending our will to appeal to others Dwelling on our weaknesses And belittling our strength Our brain once a well oiled machine Becomes barren and rusty The lie you told becomes a lifestyle No longer able to break out of your hypnotic state Your soul fades away I'll watch on from the stands Because at the circus Differentiation is key Its better then living in a world where Those who do not seem fit Then seize to exist © 2015 Michael Deshields |
