Joker & The Mime

Joker & The Mime

A Poem by Melissa Ridge

Don’t take me for a fool.
I know the likes of you!
Deception and lies are all you’re good for,
But that’s no good at all.

Wearing harlequin masks;
only we can see,
Drop the Ace from your sleeve,
You’re too good for me.

              Save me the drama,
Spare me the grin,
Seeing is believing
And maybe you think you’re trapped in darkness
If only someone were to lift the blindfold
That’s tied tight around your eyes.

From all that I’ve learned;
I know you can’t trust anyone,
But pretension is key,
Watch and listen,
And don’t forget to smile.

Seeing past the happy person; the person he/she has everyone fooled them to be like. Brilliant, I like it a lot x
