Her Castle

The breeze of the warm evening let her long caramel hair sway along her back and cheeks like the grass and the flowers of fields beyond her castle. Her prison. The lonely girl was perched on the window sill high above the ground where the clouds blossomed in the sky. Tonight, however, someone had taken their paint brush and swiped it orange and pink with the dark clouds splashed along the horizon. The lonely girl hugged her knees tightly to her chest and watched the sun sink beneath the hills and wished it a good night, a sweet farewell ‘til morning.
As stars began to sparkle and shine, a frigid wind picked up and intruded on her chamber causing her to shiver. Hopping down off her throne, she wandered about the humongous castle like she had always done. She was too tired to sleep and too reckless to dream. She hugged the stone walls for guidance as she went. The lonely girl with the caramel hair knew every footstep would take her where she had already been many times before and she wished for monsters and demons to emerge from the shadow of the moon and challenge her to battle.
Tonight was not that night, unfortunately. She found her way back to a bed so soft, it could only be for a princess. Sketched behind her eyelids she saw a prince on a white horse cantering up to the gate of her fortress. A smile crept to her lips when the dragon took him by surprise and tore his body limb from limb and wore his entrails as a fancy boa and used his horse as a toothpick. She cackled and giggled to herself and once more fell asleep above heroes and champions who had all fallen for her wicked beauty. ©

You're welcome! I was about to go off into the date with the girl and write about just how my mind took away with her. The girl in this story is gorgeous!! Where have all those hearts gone that think in so beautiful a way, that one can dream about such heroes and understand just how important it is to have that kind of imagination?! The girl in this story? ....I Love her. lol I am really glad I cam across this when I did. If you count up all the shes and hers, though, there are a lot of them. A good exercise would be for you to break this story up on a text document on your computer and see how you can make certain lines read like the poetry I caught of yours..... I hate blushing from a story because I don't want to write that. lol I just wrote it!! My "love" poems are written with this kind of fluidity that you show to me in THIS story. I could show you the links in your mail if you'd like, Kida. : ) I am not sure how to put into words that when I have written fantasy and the ones that have this story of Love that you recognize off the bat where you pick the heroes and champions right away, like you have here, it's in the same sort of design. I wasn't sure how you were going to receive that comment. You have a beautiful way of intriguing a mind that has gone light years away from a soul in his lifetime, it feel sometimes in the past, and you draw me in with this beautiful character build up where you draw on vulnerability and pure beauty. Splashing the horizon, caramel hair, and giggling.... I want to eat or and/or play with her or die for her!! lol I can't decide. Wishing this was realized the first few words I read writ across your page when I met you, Kida. I would just f'n die to hear you read this to me with my eyes closed and to feel how warm and excited your breathing and heartbeat becomes as it races when you tell your story, would drive me insane!! : ) That is real hard to NOT like!! lol Part 2..... parts. : ) xoxox -Mark
