Shattered Glass

This poem has been inspired but what I've been hearing for years.

He gets home from school.

The words echo through his head,

"Ugly", "You look like s**t", "Why are you so ugly?!"

He walks to his room,

Head dropped low,

He enters his room.

He stops and turns.

On the wall he looks up into a mirror.

The mirror shattered,

Glass falling all around,

He looks down at the shards,

"Maybe they are right."

He mumbled.
