A hunt of heart

A hunt of heart

A Poem by Kiari Sabon

You fell down as my hell hound bound after you.

His growls, my laughter and your screams echoed after.

You ran and we chased well into the afternoon.

At last a cliffs end you face with me beside you, and the hound behind you.

“Jump not love, live ever with me, soon you will see what we can be.”

“Live I can never, see I will not, for you do not love me or you would set me free.”

“I will not and shall not”

You jump from me over the edge.

I grasp for you but all I get is the nights bitter air…
