Stranger in my mirror

Stranger in my mirror

A Poem by Kiari Sabon

I don’t recognize this stranger in the mirror.

Her checks are pink.

Her lips are full.

And her eyes are cool and cold yet not unwelcoming.

Her face is set in eternal calm.

Cut as if from stone.

It resembles nothing within.

For there lays a storm inside.

It is loud and strong.

For I am numb and can feel it quake.

It calls for blood, vengeance, and violence.

I can feel it crawling and raging through my skin.

The calm face of the mirror shows of nothing within.
