Mine heart of Icarus

Mine heart of Icarus

A Poem by Kiari Sabon

Like Icarus I wish to climb higher to take a stage in your empire.
Compelled by my desire burning like an unkept fire,
but as I do soar higher my wings falter.
The closer I get the more fearful I am.
It is not my right to soar so closely to your light,
and in the end I fear I will lose my wings yet again.
Paying for my tragedy and sin.
